I've had hibachi in many restaurants across the country and while most of them are about the same in food and service, this one left much to desire. The service was OK except for the time when our chef intentionally squirted sauce on a kid sitting next to me. But the food... it was the worst I've ever had at any hibachi restaurant. The steak was hard to chew, the fried rice was dry, and the salmon was soaked in their salty sauce.
We have a tradition to eat here after any surgery or trip to the ER. ;)
Love this place. I enjoy the show but also enjoy getting the same great food on the sit down side that is much more quiet. Always enjoy their yummy food. The quality of the performance chef's has gone down over the years but they are all still nice, funny, polite. They are very sweet and loving towards kids... (Which the kids eat up).
Disappointed. Our party sat with another. Different level of service for those who appear wealthier than others. Food good. Not impressed with server, who was non-existent.
I've only been once, so I can only comment on that one experience. I enjoyed the experience and the "show". The food was good but the edamame wasn't salty enough. It took a long time for them to get to our table, but the restaurant was packed to be fair. It also took awhile to get seated even though we had reservations. The shrimp in my dish was overcooked and a little rubbery and my husband had a lot of gristle in his chicken. I'd go again, because the show was so fun and we went with friends which made it even more fun. I'd give them another chance, but if the food and service didn't improve, I probably wouldn't go back.
Great atmosphere and great food. Menu affords great variety. Food is high quality, taste and textures are well crafted. Prompt, kind and knowledgeable server made excellent suggestions and provided great service with a smile.
The Hibachi on University in Peoria has much better service and food. Friendlier there too.
