Then March came, and I came down with a really bad head cold. I was feeling okay, but I didn't prefer to lay on a massage table, with all of my germs there, to share with someone else. And my nose wouldn't stop running, so I didn't want to create a pool of snot on the floor either. So on Friday morning (more than 24 hours before our scheduled massage on Saturday) we called the salon to cancel our appointment. We said we would call back on Monday to re-schedule.
Lovely salon! Christina is awesome! Manicure, Pedicure, and eye brow was all within an hour and half!
First of all, I wish I could give this a 3.5 rating, but I have to stick to whole numbers.
For Christmas, it was a gift to my wife and I two massages at this salon. To no surprise, we were both excited. With being young parents (we have a three year old), and each of us work and go to school, that is a luxury in life which we do not get to have. At this time.
And clearly we weren't worried about scheduling right away, as we scheduled a month out.
So in February I noticed the expiration date for the coupon was coming up, so I called the salon to schedule our appointments.
So we explained I was sick, and who we had talked to, to cancel the appointment. They seemed to understand.
At 10:10 am, my therapist, Brittany, came out of the back room (my wife and I were both still in the front lobby waiting to begin our services) and asked for Alexis. That is me. (The other therapist, didn't catch her name, was scheduled to take care of Stephanie, my wife). And instead of coming out to get me to take me back for my massage, she explained to me she wasn't feeling well, and her son had just been sick, and she "didn't want to touch me". So she cancelled my appointment.
Well, our cancellation didn't get relayed to the therapists, so they each called us on Saturday morning about 10 minutes after our scheduled time, wondering where we were.
Fast forward to our appointment on Saturday, April 2 at 10:00 am.
I do wish this company the best of luck.
Sarah is a wonderful hairdresser. I've never gotten a haircut that I've liked as much as the ones she has done. Good pricing and wonderful staff.
We did call back, as promised, and re-schedule for early April.
We arrived to the salon by 9:45 am so we could fill out any paper work, and get ready for the massage, and still be able to begin our service at the scheduled time.
Now, the lady who scheduled our appointments really went above and beyond to accommodate us. I knew that we wouldn't be able to get a "couples massage" since that would surely cost more, but I did have a preference for us to both get a massage on a Saturday morning, and each at the same time. Not necessarily in the same room, but it would be ideal if we could each come together, and leave together.
And she really went out of her way to make that happen. And that was wonderful.
While I will never return to the company as a customer, nor endorse them...I will never discourage anyone from going. I know that as business owners, they only have so much control over everyone, especially when they aren't physically in the building 24 hours a day/7 days a week.
But still, that was a GREAT first experience with the salon.
I was furious.
And the other girl, who was to take care of my wife, immediately insisted on canceling my wife's service too so that we could re-schedule and come back together.
I emailed the owner, I presume, and we had several conversations.
We scheduled for the beginning of March.
I will admit, that to a point, I do feel as though the owner could have been more sensitive to our situation and inconvenience, and done more to regain us as customers....but the incident has resulted in a full refund, plus some for our travels to and fro the salon. I will admit that I am impressed with that.
And I am pleased, in the end, with how it was resolved.
I know and do understand that I might have higher expectations for service than the average consumer, so I can be a more difficult customer to take care of, but I am also extremely understanding and I provide the service I expect when I am doing my job.
This was my first massage ever and it was awesome! Massage Therapist, Brittney was super friendly and very professional. She did an incredible job. I did my homework and read lots of reviews of different studios/salons in the area. If you are looking for an extremely rejuvenating way to relax, call Mirror Mirror Salon and ask for Brittney!
Forgive the length of this review, but it is thorough.
Took our 88 year old mother to Sara for a first visit. Sara is such a good listener and very attentive to what our Mom had to say. Came away VERY HAPPY with the experience and I am coming back along with Mom. Thanks, Sara!!
I will say, that after a week of communicating and emailing back and forth, I do feel as though the problem has been resolved.
