Now, the issue that I have is that the salesman RM, said that certain packing material was a part of the cost and then said turned around and said it was free. Their isn't too much in life that is free. Towards the end, we did get some "free" boxes, but by and large we paid for 99% of the boxes from uHaul and on top of this, we did 95.5% of the packing.
After calling and speaking with a manager, he told us that he knew the crew we had and that they "were known for not being very good". However, they apparently felt that we should pay full price for substandard service. Pretty disappointing.
Fantastic service! The young guys who work for Mordue are polite, clean cut, fast, protect your floors and are careful with your items. I had two different crews as the move out and move in was a month apart and both times they did a great job. (To the person who left a review complaining that he had to pay the driver, yes, that's in the agreement.) I felt I got a good deal for the price.
The move into the new house was better because we wouldn't let them in without putting runners down. They were not going to set our beds back up, like we were told they would. They set the crib up, but not the master bed or bunk bed in one of our daughters room. I asked them if they were going to do this, which they did, but seemed put off that I would request this.
I do not subscribe to the fact that the customer is always right, but when you pay a company $8000 to move your stuff. You should not be told, "I have a busy today, but you can stop by the office and pick up your own boxes." Ooooookkkk then! So much for customer service. On top of that, they guys who came to load the truck, used six rolls of packing tape that we purchased from uHaul. So much for free.
We had boxes in an attic above the garage. I informed one of the crew members about this and he said no problem. I left my number with them in case they needed to get a hold of me and let them know we were 3 houses down the street at my parents place. Sometime after 5 we heard the truck leaving. No phone call. We went down to the house to clean a little as the new home owners had their final walk through that evening. To our surprise, the garage door was open and the door to the house was left wide open, and it had just started pouring down rain. They didn't take anything out of the attic (we were told after the fact that they don't climb any ladders or non permanent stairs due to liability). I understand this, but if they would have told me this, I could have moved the boxes into the garage so they could have put them on the truck! We were lucky that our move was only an hour away and that we had room (and time) for an extra trip to the new house. They left trash (empty rolls of tape, soda cans, spilled soda) and used all the paper towels that we had left to clean with, and the floors were filthy.
Quoted one price and I get what a quote is. However, ten days later the truck shows up and the driver provides a bill for $1000 over the quote and says that he cannot unload unless he gets confirmation of payment.
I cannot in good conscience recommend Mordue Moving and Storage at this time.
Mordue moved me across the state and everything went very smoothly. Would use them again.
(8/29/2016)They left my dresser attachments and never went back to get them. Then on top of that....they scratched up my marble top coffee table and chipped the wood on the legs. They also broke the glass of my picture frames. And i was not reimbursed nor was monies refunded for their careless handling of my things. DON'T DEAL WITH THIS MOVING COMPANY!!!
I would not recommend this company, nor would I ever use them again.
So, back to salesman RM. He denied knowing what the final bill was going to be, yet sold us the job. We the customer had to call and find out when our stuff was being delivered (several times). Now, in the past we used Federal Mogul (Allied) and they call used, provided ALL the packing material and did a little packing and informed us when our stuff would arrive. We knew what the final bill was going to be before they came to our door. Again, the customer is not always right. Had RM contacted me and said their was a weight differential and a change in moving cost. I likely would have been alright with this. Communication in business is paramount. Their was me initiating calls and emails and having to wait. for answers (I have ALL the emails to back this up). Not cool for the price point Mordue.
The guys that did our move were very friendly and seemed nice enough. However, they were very slow. They didn't seem real motivated. They arrived at the house we were moving from and had informed us that the trailer they were sent with did not have all the equipment that they needed and told us "they would normally protect the house better" if they had this equipment. They left gauges in the hardwood floors and one was in a spot that they would have had no business even being on.
