This store has a wonderful selection of ask kinds of flooring. Brenda was so helpful. We gave her an idea of what we were looking for and she helped us find exactly what we wanted.
Ted came to our home and diligently checked each the situation on both floors and within each room to allow for the warranties and quality of the flooring to shine.
Ted was very specific with all of the concerns he had and the work that needed to be performed to allow his crew to have a smooth installation. Ted's eye to attention and detail allowed us to clearly understand the responsibility of our contractor and the responsibility of his team. They treated our home as their own and left the rooms clean at the end of each day. A lot of places sell flooring, to receive the biggest bang for your buck see Columbia Rug Carpet One!! You all were awesome!!
Our personal experience with this company has not been good. We looked at several flooring companies and decided to go with this one as the guy that did the measuring for the vinyl and carpet seemed to be very knowledgeable. We contracted at this company for our main bathroom and master bathroom for vinyl and 3 rooms for carpet. The carpet experience was good so far. As far as the vinyl it was hard for us to find a pattern we liked and we liked a few here. We told our salesperson upfront on several occasions that the subfloor in our master bathroom was probably water damaged and we were assured that upon any problem the installers came across they would be able to fix it. We checked on separate occasions just to make sure we wouldn't run in to any problems that they couldn't fix and that was another reason we chose this company cause we were assured any problem they came across they would be able to fix. They got the main bathroom finished and I wasn't happy with the way the floor turned out as the pattern we picked out was squares. Upon looking at the finished product the squares leading up to the bathtub get smaller and it is very noticeable. Upon having them check it there is a problem with our wall as it is bowed and we didn't know it. It would have been nice if the measurer would check things like this to avoid problems that are noticeable with the pattern. The installers kept leaving my front door open and the bugs were coming in and my air conditioner kept running. I asked them nicely to keep it shut for that reason and they didn't respond besides looking at me. Then they go to the master bathroom and get the underlayment ripped up and said they would be out the next day to finish the floor. I went in the bathroom and noticed extensive mold and water damage in front of the shower that extended out quite a ways in a few directions. They didn't even let me know what they came across. They were going to come out the next day and proceed putting new underlayment and vinyl over a damaged and moldy sub-floor. I called the company and put a stop on the floor and the owner had to come out and look at it. We had to hire a contractor to come in and take out the shower as there was water damage underneath the shower. The installers couldn't take out the shower and fix the sub-floor. Needless to say what was supposed to take two days has turned in to several weeks as well as turning in to a huge expense. Upon taking my baseboards off the installers ran in to some problems with a few pieces of the base having dried paint on and possibly some wood glue for whatever reason. It has turned in to an unpleasant experience in several ways and after finally laying the main bathroom floor the caulk job around the shower and the master tub is not sealed and has several gaps in it. As well as now I have to purchase special made to order baseboard to match as ours is not available any longer. As well as they didn't as of yet properly take charges off of our charge account they put on that wasn't supposed to be put on in the first place. Now I am more knowledgeable and next time I am going to be more extensive on who I have to come out. I would like to think that a company survives based on customer service and how good they are to their customers and I don't feel our business matters in this particular case.
If you're looking for flooring...LOOK NO FURTHER! We live in Florida and needed our carpets replaced at our home in Peoria Heights. It's been such a hassle living so far away. After getting a few quotes from the big box stores,we looked to Columbia Carpet. What a great decision. The ease of browsing carpet, payment and scheduling was incredibly simple. They go above what expectations are and definitely go the extra mile to accommodate. Prices were amazing and service top notch! Shout out to TED and Brenda! Thanks so much for everything.
We could not be happier with the superb service we received from Columbia Rug Carpet One. From the superior product selection and quality to the ease of working with Ted, the showroom gave us ample opportunity to make the best choices for our tornado damaged home. When Ted was not in the showroom, we found the rest of the staff as informative and helpful with a nod to Shawn as well.
Ted Plotkin and his Columbia Rug team are the best in the business. Ted has come out personally to our house many times to inspect the work and make sure it's done right. Price was extremely competitive and the quality is top notch. Thanks for my incredible floors!
